We will periodically update this page with the latest news on Bob Redford and his various projects, relating to films, Sundance, awards, honors, TV appearances, and personal life.
Bob received a Kennedy Center honor in a ceremony in Washington D.C. along with Tina Turner, Tony Bennett, Suzanne Farrell of the ballet, and Julie Harris [who appeared in a play with Redford very early in his career]. President George Bush, who could not count Bob among his fans, also attended the ceremony, which was televised nationwide a few days later. Redford has described Bush as "privileged, spoiled, arrogant and limited." The two men were cordial with one another at the prestigious event, however.
Bob's daughter, Amy Redford, opened in the play Bhutan at the Cherry Lane Theater in Manhattan. She had previously used the stage name Amy Grant to avoid an association with her famous father. The play was covered prominently in the New York press, largely because of who Amy's father was.
Redford's latest film, An Unfinished Life, received mixed reviews. It co-starred Morgan Freeman and Jennifer Lopex and was directed by Lasse Hallstrom.
